Updates from the Coach! Week 6, 5/4 - 5/8

Good Evening, 

Unbelievably, we are headed into the last week of regular season matches. 

Below is the season ending information:

JV and Developmental will have their last day of practice Monday May 11th

Thursday, May 7th is the seeding meeting for the varsity team section tournament. After that meeting we will know who and when we play next week in sections. 

Friday, May 8th is our Senior Match where we will honor senior players. 

The Coaches will be running summer camps at Oak Ridge Country Club this summer. It looks like our high school courts will be redone this summer and won't be available. 

Hopkins Boys Tennis Summer Camps Beginning June 15th

Varsity Camp (Current Varsity Players)
Monday–Thursday | 7:00–9:00 AM
This is our highest-level training environment. For over a decade, Hopkins varsity players have built their games here—developing not just strokes, but the habits, discipline, and competitive mindset that define our program.

Junior Varsity & Developmental Camp
Monday–Thursday | 1:00–3:00 PM
Designed for JV and developing players, this camp focuses on building fundamentals, match confidence, and a clear pathway to varsity tennis.

Tennis may look like an individual sport, but our success at Hopkins has always come from being a connected, unified team.

When players train together:

• They push each other to higher standards

• They build trust and accountability

• They learn how to compete for something bigger than themselves

• They develop the culture that carries into the season

The difference between good teams and great teams isn’t just talent—it’s time spent together, competing, improving, and building belief.

Tuesday, May 5th

Varsity Away Match vs St Michael-Albertville 4:00pm

Location: St Michael-Albertville High School 5800 Jamison Ave NE, St Michael

Bus leaves the RAC at 2:30pm

Team will have an early release of 2:15pm

JV Team Home Match vs St Michael-Albertville 4:00pm

Location: Hopkins High School tennis courts

Team needs to be to the courts by 3:30pm

Team will have an early release of 3:00pm

Developmental Team NO practice

Wednesday, May 6th 

Varsity Away Match vs Orono 4:00pm

Location: Orono High School tennis courts 795 Old Crystal Bay Road, Long Lake

Bus will leave the RAC at 3:00pm

Team will have an early release of 2:45pm

JV Team Home Match vs Orono 4:00pm

Location: Hopkins High School tennis courts

Team needs to be to the courts by 3:30pm

Team will have early release of 3:00pm

Developmental Team NO practice

Thursday, May 7th

Varsity Away Match vs Maple Grove 4:00pm

Location: Maple Grove High School 9800 Fernbrook Lane North

Bus leaves the RAC at 3:00pm

Team will have an early release of 2:45pm

JV Team Home Match vs Maple Grove 4:00pm

Location: Hopkins High School tennis courts

Team needs to be to the courts by 3:30pm

Team will have an early release of 3:00pm

Developmental Team

Varsity Home Match vs St Louis Park 4:30pm

Location: Hopkins High School tennis courts

Team needs to be to the courts by 4:00pm

There will be NO early releases

JV Team Away Match vs St Louis Park 4:00pm

Location: St Louis Park tennis courts 6425 West 33rd Street, St Louis Park

Bus leaves West at 2:45pm

West team members have an early release of 2:30pm

Bus will leave the RAC at 3:00pm

Team will have an early release of 2:45pm
